Attractive 17th century country pub in the centre of the village. Steps up to the front door. The brick-faced main bar faces you when you enter. It sits on a red & cream tiled floor. Exposed ceiling and wall beams. To the left is a spacious dining area, to the right a cosy public bar with open fire and TV. The village's two churches in one churchyard can been seen from high-level enclosed rear garden.
Four handpumps offer Batemans beers and others from their guest list with Timothy Taylor's Boltmaker a frequent visitor. Home cooked, simple but tasty food is available at most sessions. Fish & chips or fish pie to eat in or take away on Friday evenings. Booking is often wise. Occasional live music.
