This is a proper pub with a very traditional feel to it. Run by the same landlady for 35 years, there are two real fires, one at either end of the main bar area. There is a separate public bar, available for hire. Food is served daily (except Monday), 12-2.30 including a roast on Sunday, apart from in the Summer. At the rear of the pub there is a raised sun trap garden with plenty of seating and pots of flowers appealingly scattered about. Quiz night Thursdays at 8pm
