Large open planned JD wetherspoon pub. Named after the local poet born in 1887. The pub was originally an indoor market and stretches from Castle Street to the public car park off Church Street. Access from both ends. Partially carpeted and tiled,it has a small paved walled outside drinking area and a food area in a raised upper level. Very popular and lively at weekends and busy on 'club' nights specialising in steaks and curries. Easy access for wheelchairs from Castle Street.
This Pub serves many changing beers and 4 regular beers.
