Situated on the main Bacup-Rochdale Road. In winter an open fire greets you in this family-run pub, which has a number of local characters in residence. Other beers which can be found here include Bluestone AKA, Quarrymans stout and Greene King IPA. The accommodation here is well thought of gaining an AA 3-star award. Ties with Whitworth Spartans rugby league club; the pub also sponsors a boules team
