A relatively small but busy Wetherspoon pub, once a post office, in the heart of a vibrant local community. Up to eight beers are served as well as at least three real ciders. Open plan and split-level with a small heated outdoor patio at the rear, it was voted Wetherspoon's regional community pub of the year 2008-2009. It has high ceilings and is light with plenty of seating throughout including a family dining area at the back. Local history is the theme of the décor, with reference to a local preacher, Robert Bateman, who was the band leader on the ill-fated Titanic. No car park, but a public car park just behind the pub. Accessible to those in wheelchairs. Guide dogs only.
This Pub serves many changing beers (normally at least one dark ale) and 3 regular beers.
