This large 3-storey brick-built hotel dates back to the late 1700s, although a posting house (coaching inn) reportedly existed on the site in the 16th-century. It dominates the junction, with entrances off Bridge Street and from the car park (accessed off Wetmore Road). The smart, comfortable public bar is known as the Princes Bar. The separate restaurant is the Grill Room. Hot & cold bar snacks are available in addition to the separate evening restaurant menu.
