Champion Beer of Scotland

The Champion Beer of Scotland recognises the best beer that can be found specifically in Scotland.

Cairngorm Black Gold

Cairngorm Black Gold

This year’s Champion Beer of Scotland went to Cairngorm Brewery’s Black Gold, a session stout at 4.4% ABV.

A worthy winner of the prestigious award, Black Gold was described by judges as having a roast malt which dominates throughout, with a slight smoky aroma which led into liquorice and blackcurrant flavours for a subtle sweetness. The sweet background flavour is complemented by a very long, dry bitter finish.
