Grade II listed old coaching inn dating back to 1745, although the building is thought to be even older, with links to Burton Abbey. The interior was substantially refurbished in 2013, the public bar retaining some old wooden beams and an assortment of memorabilia. Beyond the bar, the dining area has been opened out, linking part of the former lounge bar with former dining room. The pub is gaining a reputation for fine food, much of it home-made from locally sourced produce; authentic Spanish Tapas and pizzas are often available. Occasional live music (check website), and Abbots Bromley is world famous for its annual Horn Dance (see www.abbotsbromley.com/horn_dance).
