This is a down to earth pub with lots of local support. It is Tingewick's earliest recorded pub, with a pub at this location since 1729.
Three handpumps, but only one in use unless busy.
Front entrance is up several steep steps, with one bat to the left and a second to the right as you enter. Small step down to right hand bar, which has a pool table room behind it. The pub also has a good selection of whisky.
Good value food, but service is currently suspended (February 2023) - despite info on website.
It is very dog friendly.
