The Dam House sits on the edge of the Old Great Dam which built in 1785, one of several reservoirs to supply water to the growing City of Sheffield in the 18th century. The Dam House was originally built in 1780 as the home of the Water Board’s solicitor, the Dam House is now a bar and restaurant with a modern interior. The Dam House offers four constantly changing real ales (the majority of which are supplied by Wentworth brewery) as well as an extensive and varied food menu.
