Wetherspoon pub, named after a local physician and writer and created in a cinema dating back to 1935. Many original features have been beautifully restored. The vast single-roomed bar is has Art Deco styling and artefacts from a cinema background. There is a long bar counter with a good mix of real ales. Food is served all day and families are welcome until 8pm with children's menu and crayons provided.

NOTE: Alcoholic drinks are not served until 11am (12.30 Sun).
