Re-opened in October 2018 after refurbishment, this friendly 16th-century village pub with thick stone walls, oak beams and high-backed settles has long had a reputation for traditional home-cooked food using finest local produce. Real Fire. Quiet room. Lunches. Eve meals. Small garden with a lovely outlook over the countryside. Disabled access.

Closed since Feb 2023, and for sale since Sep 2023. The Cleeve Prior Community Pub Limited, a Community Benefit Society has been registered. The society needs to raise approx £450,000 to buy the freehold, and as of Feb 2024 they have over £110,000 pledged by villagers and they have applied for several grants.
