Previously the Red Lion, this pub was bought and refurbished by Blue Monkey Brewery, and is its flagship pub. The single-roomed pub boasts a wood-burning fire. Up a couple of steps there is a seating area to relax in. Outside, to the rear and up a few steps, you will find a lovely city centre oasis of calm on the roof terrace, seating over eighty, covered and heated. This leads to a small first-floor function room. There are nine, mainly Blue Monkey beers but including a least two guests along with two kegs. An ever-increasing monthly programme of events is held in the bar, the function room and even on the terrace including DJs, live music, open mic, quiz night, poetry & spoken word, art exhibition, film evenings and board games/cards.
