The Travellers Rest, situated 4 miles from Exeter on the old A30, is a former 16th-century Devonshire Coaching house, a regular meeting place for genteel folk whom were travelling back and forth between London and Cornwall - some original features still remain today. There is one long bar with a mixture of furniture, and a separate restaurant area. Homemade food made from locally sourced produce is available lunchtime and evenings, and from 12-7pm Sundays including a three meat selection plated roast. It is dog friendly and doggie treats are available from behind the bar. Families welcome. There is ample parking and a large garden area with a lovely brook babbling away in the background. Pub may close earlier if very quiet.
