A former coaching inn situated within Anstey Conservation area and described by the local authority as a "Key Unlisted Building". The Old Hare & Hounds is a village pub of traditional character, consisting of a small bar on the right and a bar-lobby to the left opened out into a former smoke room, with a separate dining room off. Behind the front bars is a lounge area at a higher level. Out the back is a yard furnished with picnic tables. Expect to see guest ales from Marston's group breweries such as Bombardier and Hobgoblin.
Historic Interest
The pub was owned by Daniel Pettifor's Steam Brewery, Anstey (established 1840), until 1900 when Pettifors were taken over by Marstons.
