An Edwardian or late-Victorian pub, originally a hotel, with an imposing exterior at the village centre. It had some good original interior features until an opening-out and complete internal rebuild in 1991. Large single bar-lounge with raised areas each end. Sports TV. The bus stop to Leicester used to be just outside, but has been moved to Stadon Road.
Historic Interest
The pub was owned by Daniel Pettifor's Steam Brewery, Anstey, until 1900 when Pettifors were taken over by Marstons.
