Historic Interest
A report in the Ipswich Journal** on 14 Sep in 1855 states that : Auction of the Rose & Crown Beer-House, Elmsett, property of Mr Golding CLARKE, under the direction of the Mortgagee, under a Power of Sale. A report in the Ipswich Journal** on 05 Oct in 1855 states that : Auction of a good dwelling house, partly used as a Beer House, in full tree, & called the Rose & Crown, pleasantly situated on Elmsett Green, with Barn, Stable, cow-house & other buildings, productive Orchard, Garden & Meadow containing all together 3A 3R 6P; also a capital malt office, 20 coombs steep.
