A charming eighteenth-century village local with a welcoming atmosphere. Previously closed down by its then owning pub group, it was bought by a private couple in 2017. They have since, tastefully renovated it and have become popular with the locals by increasing the range of good beers on offer.
It has a traditional L-shaped main bar room with TV and dartboard and also a small, comfortable lounge. Both rooms have real fires, and there is a small outside drinking area at the rear. During quieter periods, three handpumps may be in use, with Atlantic & Jemimas Pitchfork often alternating.
A quiz is held on the 1st Tuesday of each month.
