Food led pub situated on a main road into the city. It was built around 1937 as a large multi room pub and replaced its much smaller predecessor. In 1995 the pub was purchased by Mill House Inns and plans were granted for major alterations which saw all the various rooms knocked into one with the area to the rear designated for dining. It reopened in April 1996 as the Mill House. In May 2007 it changed its name to the New Pear Tree when a general refurbishment was completed. At the back of the pub there is a patio area and a large garden with a children’s play area.
