Historic Interest
The Riverbank Bar & Kitchen was built as the Town Arms in 1869-71 and has an entry on Nottingham Civic Society's Draft Local Heritage List (09 December 2013) which notes that the architect was M O Tarbotton and that the building was re-modelled in 2010. In 1874, the Town Arms was a fully licensed establishment under victualler Mrs M A Hart (Wright). In 1984 the Town Arms was re-named Bridges, a name which lasted less than a year before becoming the Aviary and then re-named again as Casa before becoming the Riverbank (Whitworth 2010).
