This is a restaurant, where drinking alcohol, including draught and bottled beer, is only allowed when food is being consumed.
Attractive Victorian erstwhile local, but now essentially operating as an Italian restaurant*, adjacent to the Trent & Mersey Canal; an enclosed garden overlooks the canal where nearby moorings are available (not operated by restaurant).
* NO DRINKS SERVED WITHOUT A MEAL (unless very quiet)!
Simply but comfortably furnished open plan interior with three linked areas, featuring beamed ceilings and a wood-burning stove at one end.
Home-cooked largely Italian food, but with a few alternatives. Regular menu plus a cheaper, more limited, weekday lunch menu. (See website for offers and promotions.)
Historic Interest
Oldest part dates back to 18th-century, but much enlarged/extended since, leading to its unusual shape.
