Opened in December 2016 after a £2.5 million investment, this is a stunning Wetherspoon renovation of a Grade B listed former cinema, originally opened in 1923 and expanded to 1900 capacity in 1928. The main bar, with 12 handpumps, has a superb screen-style backdrop and is complemented by a smaller bar (with three separate real ales) about 35ft higher in the 'gods', complete with plush cinema-style seating.
Be aware that a single queue may form despite the long bar.
Highly Commended in the 2017 CAMRA Pub Design Awards Conversion to Pub Use Category.
NOTE: Alcoholic drinks are served from 9am (11am Sun).
