First opened as a public house in 1871, owned by the Thomas Salt and Co Brewery. Now a cosy gastropub with secluded courtyard garden; the pub has attracted very good independent reviews for its food, e.g. serial entries in the Good Food Guide. Locals would be forgiven for keeping very quiet about this hidden gem, although the emphasis here is not on real ale; the excellent menus change daily. One ale was reported at our last update; further news welcome.
Historic Interest
The up-market St. Peter's Square housed the original Island Records offices and it is hoped by the pub that some of their roster of musicians such as Bob Marley, Cat Stevens and U2 may have frequented the bar!
This Pub serves no changing beers and 1 regular beer.
