The pub was previously known as the Butchers Arms and stands with a commanding view over the River Wear. The pubs single room as a picture window looking east towards The National Glass Centre and Roker.
This was the home, in the basement underneath the pub, of the Bull Lane Brewing Co from 2005 to 2011. Note the White Plaque on the front of the pub and the blue plague on the side , recognising Bull Lane that runs down at the left of the building.
