Rambling country pub dating from 1827, largely given over to fashionable dining but still featuring a sizeable bar and drinking area. The emphasis on food and wine may explain the high beer prices. Isolated but with the character of an upmarket suburban chain pub, it may feel too modern for traditionalists. Extensive paved drinking area at the front of the pub.
