Hotel and restaurant with a public bar.
Another beautiful 17th century stone house which became an inn in the 19th century with mullioned windows and a fine doorway; this was the original pub of Garne’s Brewery (of Burford) taken over by Wadworth in 1969 before being sold as a free house. Nice bar area, which is the meeting place for a gin club on Thursdays - there is a choice of over 100 gins from around the world, as well as several tonics. The hotel has been refurbished and extended under new ownership. And renamed.
Historic Interest
Built 1660 as a farm or dower house and later became an inn. Had stables attached at one time, demolished to widen road.
