Fisherman's Rest, Lymington

Originally a house named Grattens Cottage, granted a liquor licence in 1870, and a one-time smugglers' haunt, this old and traditional pub has open-plan lounge and restaurant areas around a central bar. The rustic, candlelit interior has exposed beams and an open fire; the walls are adorned with nauticalia, including local charts. Outside there is a small patio. The extensive menu includes local fish and seasonal produce. Pie and Pudding night Monday, Steak night Thursday. Table bookings recommended and preferred by telephone. Among local attractions are Lymington's Saturday market, quay and marinas, sea wall walks and the marshes.
