The Golden Lion is one of Wetherspoon's finest, a large bustling 18th century town pub, situated on the main high street. Knowledgeable and efficient staff serving up to 7 real ales at any one time including up to 3 guest ales. The pub's name is thought to have originated from King Henry I and is also known as the Lion of Justice. Popular with the local horse racing community. Children welcome until 9pm in the family area. One real cider also available. Holds the Cask Marque Award for serving quality real ale.
