The pub itself dates from the mid 1980s and is now named after the owners gran. The former Smugglers has been completely refurbished inside and out. It is yards from Roker Beach and near the Marina. There are 2 bars, one downstairs, the other upstairs. Downstairs 3 handpulls offer real ale The two regular beers are Double Maxim and Annie's Ale ( rebadged Swedish Blonde). Note the spare three handpulls at the back of the bar that can be used at busy times. Meals are served every day with breakfast Mon- Sat from 10am.. There are panoramic views out of the windows over the beach, and the pub is very well lit. There is a small stage for live music. Note the bric a brac while going up stairs, and the many pump clips adorning the walks.
