The Halfway House is a former coaching inn dating from the 1770s, based at the midpoint between Chester and New Ferry. (See old prints of the pub and surrounds on the walls.) Although open plan nowadays, it still retains much of it’s original character. There are several drinking areas featuring some smart comfortable bench seating. A genuinely friendly local for conversation.
The full compliment of four handpulls is now entirely free of tie so look out for some unusual ales appearing.
Pub has a darts team, dominoes team, a golf society and also hosts local football teams after matches. Open mic night every other Wednesday and fun quiz night Thursdays 10pm
