Originally opened on 29th April 2017 as the Troubadour of Kent being a micropub with a small raised stage area for poetry readings, poetry, storytelling and live acoustic music. After a short closure, it reopened on 25 January 2019 as the Tontine Tavern but closed again shortly afterwards.
Re-opened and relaunched by the local Angels & Demons Brewery on 3rd May 2019 as its taproom serving beers from 50L steel kegs, and eco kegs, together with 2 ciders and 2 cask beers from their McCanns range
.
Beers are mainly from its own range, but guest ones also appear, and all are sold in thirds, halves and pints with pricing that is not strictly pro-rata.
Real ale in KeyKeg may be available at times but is not guaranteed to be on sale. Food often available.
