The pub features an illuminated 90ft well in the dining room floor covered with bullet proof glass. The hand pumps are just for show - the beer is served by gravity straight from the cellar. 1 guest beer in the winter and 2 in the summer, sourced as locally as possible.

The accommodation was refurbished in 2018. The pub is well placed for walking the Ridgeway or the Og Valley.

Shorter opening hours of 4pm - 10pm Mon to Fri apply from November 2022 to April 2023.

Closed 31st Dec to 30th Jan.

Historic Interest

Originally a coaching inn dating from 1647.
