Established in 2009 and situated within a railway arch. Kernel was the first, and is the largest, of what is now the chain of breweries known as the Bermondsey Beer Mile. The tap room closed for on-sales in September 2015 due to over-stretched demand in limited facilities but reopened in late 2019 in a separate railway arch a few doors down from the brewery. Numerous beers on tap and in bottle, plus from 2022 also offers one changing cask beer.
