Historic Interest
There was a pub on this site dating to at least 1822, originally known as the Chesnut Horse and is listed under that name in Bagshaw's Directory of 1850. It appears to have been known as the Bay Horse by 1868 (listed as located in Grange) and later changed to the Black Horse by the late 1880s. Appears to have been at one time a West Cheshire Brewery pub. Acquired by Birkenhead Brewery in 1913. Transferred to Threlfalls Chesters in 1968 and selling Whitbread beers in the 1980s. The pub was renamed Collingwood in 2008 and changed its name again to the Hilltop by 2014. Finally changing name again to the Viking (to celebrate West Kirby's Viking heritage) in June 2016. Closed on 28 October 2019 and became Leaf Restaurant in March 2020.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 1 regular beer.
