Leathern Bottle, Lewknor

A traditional old Grade II-listed country pub spread over three rooms separated by a large open fireplace, with wood-burner, and bar area. Consistently good ale and an excellent home-cooked pub menu, using locally sourced produce, make this an ideal stop-off from the nearby M40 motorway. Takeaway food is available every day during food times; please call to order during meal times.

Run by two generations of the same family since 1980, it has appeared in all but one edition of CAMRA's Good Beer Guide. The pub offers a warm welcome to all, including walkers from the nearby Ridgeway, with some of the best trails starting and finishing here. It is also a short walk from the Oxford Tube and airline coach stop. The large family-friendly garden includes a children's play area.
