Handsome old village pub, in the middle of a pretty village. There is a lovely garden out at the back. Now a Free House after being a Wadworth pub for many years, there are usually up to three changing ales on at any time, mostly from the west country. There are also some 'Craft' beers on tap including Titanic's Plum Porter.
There is a local legend that this was the first pub in England where tobacco was smoked, as Sir Walter Raleigh was a friend of the owner of the local Manor House and he stayed there often.
