Historic Interest
The name Mytton derives from that of the Shropshire squire "Mad"Jack Mytton. This was a character who, possibly through his legendary exploits as a sportsman, eccentric and drunkard, lost his fortune and ownership of the Halston Hall to pay off his debts. It's said that his funeral cortege stopped here on its way to the chapel. Mermaid is the crest of the Italianate Portmeirion hotel in North Wales. This was designed by a previous owner of this hotel, the architect Sir Clough Williams Ellis.
This Pub serves 4 changing beers and 1 regular beer.
