This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.
Built in 1664 as the George and Dragon inn, ale was brewed on the site in 1777 later becoming the brewery managers house. After a time as the Conservative Club, it is now the Pateley Club. The club is accessed off the main road of the town, a snooker table is in front of you as you enter and stairs then go up to the bar. Upholstered seats are around the edge. A second beer is added in summer.
CAMRA members are welcome on production of a valid membership card. Monthly membership is £2, and other non-members can be signed in once per month by a member.
