This popular road-side pub is much larger than it appears. As well as a lounge and separate bar there is a function room at the back and outside bar facilities. The pub serves a good range of Arkell’s beers. Apart from the two regular beers there is another Arkell’s beer; often a seasonal. The pub has an extensive menu including changing specials. It is also home to darts and crib teams. There is easy access from the A419 and M4 Junction 15.
Historic Interest
The first beerhouse here probably opened in the 1840s but by 1859 a new building had been erected by the owner, Thomas Stroud.
Arkell's bought the pub in 1899 and until 1974 it was still called The Plough.
This Pub serves 2 changing beers and 2 regular beers.
