Village centre pub in the hills above Hay on Wye. Renovated and refurbished following a disastrous fire some years ago, this 500-year old inn is steeped in history. With stone-flagged floors, a wooden bar it has it has the feel of an old and much-loved premises. In the corner behind the bar there is a well - an unusual feature for any pub.
There are 8 en-suite rooms.
The medievil Pains Castle which is a ruin, is a few yards away.
