Hanging baskets grace the black and white exterior with its leaded stained-glass. Built in 1647, it has a wonderful historic charm, with exposed beams and a beautiful old fireplace. The open-plan layout of the ground-floor bar and restaurant is warmed by two open fires and is well split up into discrete areas and there are two sharing tables near the bar. There are letting rooms and a good-sized rear outdoor seating area. Three hand-pumped cask beers, two from Cheshire.
Operated by the McGrath family since 2017. Buzzy and busy, especially at the weekends, with good business in the restaurant and at the bar. The Sunday roast is renowned.
This Pub serves no changing beers and 3 regular beers.
