150 year-old traditional community pub, with two carpeted rooms and low-beamed ceilings. Ale lovers who are prepared to make the walk away from the town centre will receive a warm welcome. Normally five real ales are on offer from mainly small breweries with at least one St Austell beer usually available. It holds a mini beer festival at Easter time. Large selection of gins and single malt whiskies. Good quality food is available lunchtimes and evenings. A real fire in the main bar. Quiz on Thursday nights.

Received a '10 years in the Guide' award in 2023.
