In a beautiful setting by the picturesque church and village green, the 17th century Royal Oak is situated in the centre of the village and is a lovely place to sit outside on a summer's day. The Felday Brewery is adjacent to the pub, operating from a custom made brewery towards the car park, with Legacy being their regular beer. Occasionally a real cider may be available. There is a small entrance porch leading to a cosy bar where homemade meals are served. At one end of the bar is an attractive fire. There is further dining space at the back up some stairs, which is sometimes used for functions, and leads into a patio garden at the back which can also be accessed from the car park. There is also a front garden with an outside bar. The pub is a popular destination with walkers and cyclists (for whom there is a lockable cycle rack) and dogs are welcome. The pub was taken over in February 2023 by local residents. They have set about making numerous improvements (with help from friends who volunteered their services) in a bid to create one of the best pubs in Surrey. At that point, the Felday Brewery had temporarily ceased brewing.
