The pub Re open after a huge refurbishment in May/June 2016, this refurb introduced real ales and a cider. (Now only one changing beer, and no cider). Open plan over two levels, the seating is a mix of high backed chairs around old singer sawing machines and under heated wall seating. Yorkshire stone, wood and carpeted flooring makes for a warming feel. The ceiling in front of the bar is a map of historical Barnsley. This pub has been here with the same name since 1822. George Miller was licensee until 1837.
