A destination popular with walkers and diners alike. Set in stunning countryside and just inside the Peak District National Park near the meandering River Dane and the Gritstone Trail. The name comes from the Shackleton's Arctic expedition ship, the Nimrod, seen on the sign outside. The 16th century long, stone building has three small rooms; a flagged vault/family room (or for muddy booted ramblers!) and two lounges.
The far room houses a red sandstone fireplace with an unusual smiling stone face, as well as beams. The beer range is from JW Lees and usually includes one from their microbrewery - Boilerhouse.
It has a varied menu with large portions available.
The pub is located very close to the Wincle brewery but only their bottled beers are available here.
Credit cards are accepted.
Hours can vary and be weather dependant.
This Pub serves 3 changing beers and 1 regular beer.
Ship Inn, Wincle
Changing beers typically include: JW Lees , JW Lees - Bitter , JW Lees - Dragon's Fire
