Historic Interest
The brewery in the pub yard was extended by William Greatorix in 1886, the pub is listed as a home brew pub in the Royal Commission Report on Arsenic in Beer in 1901. Following the death of the owner William Greatorix in 1910 his executors put the property for auction, including "back premises fitted as a small brewery with modern 5-qtr plant, long noted for its home-brewed ales."
