After a recent refurbishment, the Wheatsheaf now has one large room that has three distinct areas. The back lounge is available for private functions. At least six beers from the Marston's range are served.
Until further notice the upstairs accommodation is closed until it too can be refurbished. Locally made pork pies and fresh cobs are served daily.
This old pub, built in 1854 when it consisted of 4 public rooms on the ground floor and a club room on the first floor which became the billiard room. It was purchased by Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries in 1909 whose beers have now been served there for over a century. In 1919 the billiard room was converted to bedrooms to provide more accommodation for letting out, and in 1923 an extension was added. In 1959 plans were submitted to demolish the old shops next door including the front left smoke room of the pub and Cartwrights forge to the rear. It was the last pub in the centre to offer waiter service to the smoke room customers.
This Pub serves many changing beers and 3 regular beers.
