Small, traditional and friendly one-roomed local built on the site of Idle Manor and dating from before 1750. Affectionately nicknamed "The Scruffy", it is popular and busy especially during the cricket season. A disused well was discovered inside some years ago. The beer garden is popular in good weather and a window at the back of the bar serves it. Quiz nights are held on Thursdays and Sundays. There are a number of pictures of Idle from days gone by on the walls. The pub has its own golfing society and local farm produce is sold when it is in season.
