The Sportsman closed some time ago (we don't know the exact date) and remained empty for a long while. In 2018 a 'community benefit society' was formed and they raised enough money to buy the freehold in November 2018. Restoration of the pub was mainly with volunteer labour and the pub reopened on 24/07/2021. Initial reports say 'a lovely refurbishment with old photos and an old pub sign on the wall. Simple but very pleasant. There's a smaller front room and a larger back room. One hand pull available. No food other than normal snacks currently, but family friendly with high chairs available.'
Real Ales are supplied by the local Cwrw Llyn brewery, around half a mile away, and the plan is to squeeze a second cask ale or two into their limited space. These will also be from North Wales.
