This pub, in the heart of Idle village, re-opened under new ownership on 5 May 2023 by two locals who wanted to bring back the feel of the Symposium they used to know. The aim is to bring craft beer, real ale, fresh food and a warm welcome to the heart of Idle. The lower front area is given priority to dining but it is possible just to have a drink when it is less busy. Seating for drinkers is provided on the raised area containing the bar and in the snug to the rear. The bar has two real ales hand-pulls, with one regular and one varying guest beer, and six keg taps, including one dedicated to Erdinger. The rear terrace provides extensive views. Under the terrace is an additional customer area, giving smokers some shelter. There is live music from 5pm on Sundays. 30% off the cost of food is offered on Tuesdays. On Saturdays, between 12-7pm, a 'Bottomless Brunch' can be booked. There are various deals on cocktails. Food times were correct when surveyed in May 2023 but may be subject to change as the business settles into a routine.
